Nomadic creatures

Drawing Collection, 2019
Tehran, Iran

They are a family bound by shared genes.

They resist accepting a fixed program. They resist a permanent form. They resist being placed in a single location. They resist being defined. They carry futile programs, and their very essence is rooted in futility.

This series began in 2019. At first, these creatures were closer to the ground-larger and heavier. Over time, they became lighter, freed from the earth, and freed from any program.

Nomadic Creatures emerge as part of an ongoing exploration of body and space. This project was born out of research into how space is perceived through the body. Through migration, the body’s relationship with context transformed, leading to the perception of a new kind of spatial form. The suspended posture of this family and the unstable structure that connects its two parts are outcomes of this transformative experience.
