White Noise
Paper Installation, 2019
Tehran, Iran
Many books have remained behind the doors of censorship. Texts that, before being published, have been so far removed from the writer's or poet's original idea that they no longer bear even the slightest resemblance to the created work. Countless archives have been censored, while artificial archives are being produced and rewritten daily.
The contrast between the inside and the outside of our lives has been so profound that nothing from the depths within has ever surfaced.
.White Noise is a heavy industrial machine, designed to carry and suspend weightless white papers that were never written.
This installation is created for the gallery of a publishing house in Tehran, a space that itself stands at the intersection of suppression and publication.
In this gallery, the absence of text holds greater significance than the text itself.
