Locomotion

Performative Architecture
Stuttgart, Germany
Year: 2024

Locomotion is a performance that explores the boundaries between body, space, and control.
In this work, the performer loses the ability to move freely — every action is directed by the audience. They pull, turn, and guide the performer, deciding how and where the body moves. Any attempt at independent motion meets resistance, turning the space into a field of tension between self and others.

The term locomotion refers to movement — the act of going from one place to another. Here, it becomes a study of how movement is shaped by external forces rather than inner will.

The performance transforms physical motion into a dialogue about autonomy and influence. It questions where freedom begins and ends, and how the body — within a shared, performative space — becomes both a medium and a mirror of power.
